As I have a keen interest in art and design I have started to follow the work of designers and artists. One designer who has caught my eye over the years in Philippe Starck. A french post-modern designer who is most famous for the “Juicy Salif” lemon squeezer however through my own research of his work I have been insired by not only his strong use of form and sleek line in products but also in architechture and interoirs. It is a personal dream of mine to visit the Peninsula hotel in tokyo

It has recentally come to my attention that Starkis taking part is a BBC two series, Design for Life, offering young designers a chance to win a year long contract with his design firm. I watched the show and found it really interesting as he explores not only the method of design but philosophy behind making unique, partical and timeless designs.
